Our club members love to carry flags at
horse shows, parades, rodeos, and various other events.
Enjoy!

If you have not carried a flag before, you owe it to
yourself to set this as a personal goal to achieve with
your horse. It is a very proud
and rewarding experience. Proper flag etiquette
dictates that it is only necessary to salute the first
flag in a parade, which is usually at the beginning with
the Marching Color Guard. Since
the horses bring up the rear, most of the
salutes are long done by the time the horses pass by.
Therefore it is an especially moving experience
that will give you a lump in your throat and your heart
will skip a beat, and a tear may even come to your eye,
when you catch a glimpse of a veteran standing quietly
in the crowd or perhaps the mother of a soldier watching with
a tear and a prayer, standing at attention with their
hands on their heart. Even though 10 flags may have
already passed by, they still stop and salute Old Glory as she passes by. It
is something that you will never forget.
